In this multifaceted role, your primary responsibility revolves around actively searching for, initiating contact with and cultivating strong working relationships with Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) situated throughout the Amsterdam Noord region and nearby areas. You will serve as the key point of contact between our logistics team and various external DSP providers, playing a crucial role in establishing dependable supply chain partnerships that enable seamless last-mile delivery services.

Beyond initial contact and outreach, your task will include consistent engagement and maintenance of these partner relations. It is not just about getting new DSPs onboard; it is about ensuring those partnerships remain productive, professional and strategically aligned with our service goals over time. You’ll be expected to monitor performance, provide feedback and encourage a continuous improvement mindset within these partnerships to ensure long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing and Partner Coordination

Your job will include initiating and maintaining contact with local Delivery Service Partner resources in and around the operational region. This means you’ll be researching and identifying potential partners using both online platforms and offline community engagement strategies, reaching out to them via calls or visits, evaluating their capabilities and managing early-stage relationship-building.

Once partners are sourced, you’ll be responsible for their onboarding. That involves contract alignment, compliance verification and ensuring a mutual understanding of delivery expectations. Your communication will be essential to establish trust and ensure that the partners can meet our logistics and service quality standards.

Furthermore, you will manage the ongoing coordination and consolidation of multiple DSP suppliers. This includes aligning delivery schedules, negotiating contractual terms that benefit both parties and encouraging collaborative efforts that could lead to long-term strategic partnerships. Your ability to balance the needs of the business with supplier limitations will directly impact delivery success rates and customer satisfaction levels.

Back-End System Operations

A large portion of your responsibilities will also involve performing daily backend system operations. These tasks are critical for managing the logistics platform efficiently. This could involve tracking real-time deliveries, updating delivery statuses, monitoring key performance indicators, managing inventory information and ensuring data accuracy across operational systems.

Familiarity with backend logistics software (such as Transport Management Systems or Delivery Management Platforms) will help you navigate these responsibilities. Your ability to detect data discrepancies or delays and act on them quickly will help reduce delivery inefficiencies and maintain a high operational standard.

Regional Management Support

Your influence won’t be limited to Amsterdam Noord alone. You’ll also support service providers across multiple cities and surrounding regions where operations are active or expanding. This requires flexibility in approach and adaptability to regional variations in logistics infrastructure, legal requirements and workforce capabilities.

You’ll need to coordinate closely with regional teams, share operational insights, troubleshoot cross-location delivery issues and offer hands-on assistance in building consistent quality service across all territories. In some cases, travel may be required to inspect partner facilities or resolve on-ground operational disruptions.

Transport Route Optimization

Another critical area of your job will be the strategic planning and optimization of delivery and transport routes. With cost-efficiency and speed being top priorities in logistics, you’ll be expected to analyze current routes, identify inefficiencies and implement improved routing methods using routing software, traffic pattern data and delivery trend insights.

This may include redesigning delivery zones, adjusting drop-off schedules, grouping deliveries and proposing changes to minimize fuel costs and delivery delays. Your analytical input here can result in major cost reductions for the company while simultaneously improving customer satisfaction through quicker, more reliable deliveries.

Supplier Relationship Management

At times, things won’t always go smoothly. When issues arise – such as late deliveries, communication breakdowns or service failures – you will step in as the problem-solver. You’ll be expected to investigate the root cause, initiate resolution protocols and guide DSPs in making necessary adjustments to restore normal operations.

Proactive relationship management is a key here. Regular review meetings, performance feedback sessions and supplier evaluations will help keep everyone accountable and focused on shared goals. Conflict resolution, negotiation and diplomacy will be part of your skillset in handling supplier escalations.

Performance Evaluations and Reporting

As part of your commitment to excellence, you’ll generate regular evaluations regarding the terminal delivery process. You’ll analyze performance metrics, identify delivery trends and document challenges and successes. These insights will be compiled into reports that are used to recommend upgrades or changes in the delivery model.

These reports will serve as critical feedback tools for internal stakeholders, guiding decision-making for future investments, resource allocations or software improvements. You may present your findings to management and contribute to the strategic roadmap of the logistics operations.

System and Network Optimization

The final but most important aspect of your responsibilities involves the continual optimization of our entire delivery system. By improving service provider operations and refining the logistics network, your role contributes to building a scalable, efficient and responsive last-mile delivery model.

This may involve leveraging automation tools, revisiting delivery protocols, digitizing tracking methods and adopting tech integrations that elevate operational accuracy. The goal is to continually enhance the network’s ability to deliver products quickly, accurately and cost-effectively.
